The Trade Enhancement Programme (TEP) is an initiative targeting the development of our skills based individuals and entrepreneurs.
In addition, the impact of COVID-19 brought to realisation many skills based individual entrepreneurial skills in order to provide a livelihood for their families. The Programme provides financial support of $1,000 to skills based businesses who require start-up funding for their businesses.
The Young Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES) is an initiative targeting the development of young business entrepreneurs with unique and innovative ideas.
It is intended to promote and harness the talents of young Fijians, to become âjob creatorsâ rather than be just âjob seekersâ. Financial support in the form of Government Grants of up to $30,000 will be provided to successful young budding entrepreneurs in Fiji between the ages of 18 and 40 years, to develop or expand their unique and innovative business ideas.
The Northern Development Programme (NDP) is a government funded programme that provides equity assistance through grants to enterprises to improve the livelihoods of the people of the Northern Division.
The programme was established formally in the year 2008 following the Cabinet decision due to the depressed state of the northern economy which contributed significantly to the migration of people from rural Vanua Levu to the urban centers of Labasa, Savusavu, Taveuni and to the urban and peri-urban centers of Suva, Lautoka and Nadi in Viti Levu.Â
Additionally, the Programme is aimed to promote economic diversification and strengthen the supply chain. Â
Assistance was provided to Sectors which have growth potential, such as Agribusiness, Fisheries, Forestry, Tourism, Processing and Manufacturing. In order to further the development of the Northern Division it was decided to expand the range of sectors mentioned above to include Information, Communication and Technology Services, Textile, Clothing and Footwear, Financial Service Providers, Creative Arts, Renewable Clean Energy, and Recycling and Upcycling.
The National Export Strategy (NES) is a Fijian Government initiative, which aims to assist existing and new exporters in achieving competitiveness, value addition, export diversification and growth in targeted markets overseas.
The Fiji Government will provide this assistance in sectors which have the growth potential, such as Forestry, Fisheries, Agri-business, Manufacturing, Tourism, Hospitality, ICT, Financial Service providers and Energy Development sectors.
The Integrated Human Resources Development programme (IHRDP) is designed to empower our communities in the peri-urban, rural and remote areas and address unemployment in a holistic way through strategic partnerships between the public, private and civil society sectors.
Assistance is provided in sectors which have the growth potential, such as Fisheries, Forestry, Agri-Business and Manufacturing. Additionally, the IHRDP programme encourages applications from the Tourism, Hospitality, Information Communication and Technology Services, Clothing, Textile and Footwear, Financial Service Providers, Creative Arts, Health Care, Recycling and Upcycling, Outsourcing Industry and Renewable Clean Energy Development sectors.
