MANDATORYÂ COMPLIANCES
In compliance with sections 34 and 35 of the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) Act 2011, all businesses must register as an employer with FNPF. As a registered business owner, you must register all employees hired to conduct your business operations.
The Fiji National University (FNU) is responsible for collecting the levy imposed on emoluments (exemption stated in FNU Levy Order). In compliance with the FNU Act 2010, all businesses are required to register with FNU to facilitate the payment of a bi-annual levy.

ADDITIONAL COMPLIANCES
If building does not have a compliance certificate or if it is remodeled, the following are required:
The National Fire Authority is responsible for assessing businesses to ensure that premises are properly equipped with fire safety devices.
The National Occupational Health and Safety Services (OHS) ensures that business comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1996. All businesses are required to apply for this license with the Ministry of Employment.
When starting a new business or company with foreign investors, applications for the issuance of new/additional securities or partnership interests should be made to the Reserve Bank of Fiji. The foreign investors are required to provide documentary evidence of their equity contribution from offshore, within three months from the date of the approval by the Reserve Bank of Fiji. This e-service allows SABS users to apply for RBF approval for the issuance of Securities/Partnership Interest to the foreign shareholders or partners in an entity registered by Registrar of Companies.
Investors or entrepreneurs who intend to start a business in
Fiji are required to ensure that their business branches are certified and
meets regulatory health requirements. This e-service allows SABS users to apply
for Health License and/or Renewal of Health License in respect of Food Business
Operation with Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS).
